Obituary for Betty L. Nittinger (Hulbert)

EAST GREENBUSH Betty Louise Nittinger died at her home on July 3, 2018 while enjoying one of her greatest passions in life - gardening. She was 79.
Mrs. Nittinger was born on July 28, 1938 in Albany, NY to her parents, Donald and Mary Hulbert.
She graduated from the SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Elementary Education in 1960 and taught for several years at Red Mill School in East Greenbush.
She married Charles William Nittinger in 1965. Betty spent most of her time in the outdoors, gardening, playing piano, leading local farmers’ markets selling dried flower arrangements and produce she grew on her farm, and participating in Antique Study Group. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Nittinger is survived by her daughter, Laura Fay; son, John Nittinger; grandsons, Charlie and William Nittinger; sisters, Kathleen “Kit” Kalin and Barbara Miner; and brothers, Donald “Butch” and Lawrence “Larry” Hulbert and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles, and her brothers in law Joseph Kalin, Robert A. Miner Jr.
