Obituary for Ursula M. Sturn

Ursula M.  Sturn
Rensselaer – Ursula M. Sturn, age 96, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Regan) Boyle and wife of the late Willard E. Sturn, whom she wed in Fort Knox, Kentucky on May 19, 1942.
Ursula worked for Myers Department Store and later she retired from Trustco Bank. She was fortunate to have traveled extensively for many years with friends and family, enjoying each new adventure. Ursula had a sweet, gentle disposition and possessed a quiet strength of character, a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all. She had great love for animals and adopted rescue dogs following Hurricane Katrina.
She is survived by her sons Patrick (Veronica) Sturn of Wynantskill and Vincent (Mary) Sturn of Castleton; her granddaughter Terra M. (Gary) Sturn of Brunswick and her sister-in-law and lifelong friend Jean Ann Plume of Rensselaer. Ursula is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Teresa Sturn and her siblings Vincent, Richard, George and Magdalen Boyle.
Ursula’s family would like to thank the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor, Unit A3 for the wonderful care and friendship extended to their mother. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer Friday, May 25, 2018 at 9:00am and 10am at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, Herrick St., Rensselaer where the Funeral Mass will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 7pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
