Rensselaer- Marie Y. Dayter, 75, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany and lived in Rensselaer for the past 18 years. Marie was a retired Home Health Care Aide. She enjoyed caring for people and animals, garage sales, bingo and her biggest joy was spending time with family. She was a single mother of Veronica, Dawn, Jeffrey (Christine), Russell (Virginia), Peter, and Deborah Dayter; grandmother of Samantha, Courtney, Becky, and Rose. Marie’s family would like to thank her adopted extended family: Debbie, Bonnie and Kelley.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 6:30pm in the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Hospice Inn.
