Obituary for Lynn K. Shambeau

Lynn K. Shambeau
In the early hours of Monday, November 6, 2017 Lynn Karen Shambeau (73), resident of Rensselaer, NY was surrounded with the love of her family as she embarked on her final journey to eternal peace.

Born June 12th 1944 at Albany’s Brady Hospital, to Elsie Marie Pratt-Mattiske and John William Mattiske. She was the first granddaughter of Elsie Marie Pratt, and Norman H. Pratt. She leaves behind her soulmate of 57 years Hazen Ernest Shambeau. Also, left to honor her memory are her children Debra (Jim) Hoose, Janet (Stephen) Palella, Ernie (Cheri) Shambeau, and Carolynn Poole (Stephen Perez). She will be reunited with her youngest daughter Marie Shambeau. Lynn is also survived by her sister Laura Kim Griffin, and brother Doug (Lisa) Griffin, her nine grandchildren Constance (Keith) Hogan, David Henderson, Kevin (Sara) Graham, Stephen (Kathryn) Palella, Edward (Tiffany) Shambeau, Autumn Shambeau, Renee Poole, Brian Poole, Jolene Perez, and her three great grandchildren Jackson Hogan, Grant Hogan and Julian Shambeau and niece Linda (Brian) Widelski, and nephews Desmond Biechman (Meghan Welcome), and Michael Griffin.

Lynn enjoyed life as a loving mother who always put her family first. With a generous heart and a laugh that filled the air of all those around her, Lynn found joy in every walk of life and made every holiday a momentous occasion. Whether she was baking with her grandchildren, creating feasts for her family, vacationing with the love of her life, or rejoicing in the warm embrace of those she loved dearly, Lynn always embodied the true spirit of a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother with her endless love and self sacrifice.

We ask that you join us in celebrating her remarkable life with a gathering of friends and family for viewing and remembrance on Wednesday, November 8th from 4pm – 8pm at the Lyons Funeral Home of Rensselaer followed by memorial services on Thursday, November 9th beginning at 9am also held at the Lyons Funeral Home 1700 Washington Ave Rensselaer, NY 12144.
